Implementing a new IT-system is difficult and can often feel threatening for the employees. Midttrafik wished to understand which hurdles different parts of their organization experienced in their process of implementing a new IT-system.
Identify roadblocks in the process of purchasing and implementing a new IT-system at Midttrafik.
Through observations of workflows and meetings we identified issues and workarounds in the use of their old ESDH-system, noting areas that should be improved in the new system. Simultaneously we performed semi-structured interviews with super-users to identify their frustrations with the system as well as with the process of acquiring a new system. By coding and analyzing observations, interviews, and various documentation, we identified areas in which this process could be improved resulting in a report for the company as well as for our exam.
